Mette Ingvartsen

The Artificial Nature Project

Part of the retrospective “The Artificial Nature Series”

Duration 60 min.

In “The Artificial Nature Project”, Mette Ingvartsen stages perceptions and sensations of nature and proposes a new encounter between human and non-human. Materials fly through the air giving rise to a landscape that constantly transforms itself, rapidly altering our perception. A calm contemplative site may turn into an energetic chaos, a flood wave becomes a storm of confetti whirling through the air, an abstract sculpture turns into a swarm of animals. A vibrant landscape of dead things coming alive.
