Almost everyone carries a digital archive in their pockets. Photos, chats, mails, that do not gather dust and never decay. They are forever stored in arid server farms, exploited by unseen third parties. In the “Garden of Tangled Data” things are different. Visitors donate data to the garden and watch as it cross-breeds, blooms and becomes humus: Not for profit but beauty. Together with invited farmer-philosopher guests (Sladja Blazan, Michael Marder, Isabel Kranz, Jutta Person, Birgit Schneider, Florian Sprenger), Chris Kondek, Christiane Kühl and their group sow the seeds of an alternative ecosystem: Friendly co-existence between technology, plants and us.
