Dear audience,

we’ve had a wonderful first festival week of the 38th edition of Tanz im August – featuring one premiere, two German premieres, 19 performances, a thrilling festival opening, fascinating artist talks, and two fantastic festival parties – all in glorious summer weather!

In total, this year’s festival, running from 13 to 29 August 2026,
will present 19 productions at 11 venues – including 3 world premieres, 6 German premieres and 4 Berlin and international co-productions.

In the second week, you can look forward to the German premiere of “The Choreography of Water” by Simona Deaconescu, Ioana Vreme Moserand Simina Oprescu at HAU3, Agnietė Lisičkinaitės and Igor Shugaleevswork “CLAP & SLAP” at Radialsystem (Saal), “Après moi, le déluge” of (LA)HORDE together with Ballet national de Marseille at Haus der Berliner Festspiele, Trajal Harrell with “Music Music – Histoire(s) du Théâtre VII” at HAU1, the German premiere of ”Les Oiseaux” by Lenio Kaklea at HAU2 and Diana Niepce with “HORNFUCKERS” at Radialsystem (Halle). We’re also inviting you to the third festival party with Loves_kills at our Festival Centre.
