Sohrab was born in Teheran in 1984. Along with his brother he founded the punk band Fat Rats there, which disbanded after two years. Inspired by illegally acquired electronic music from Europe Sohrab began to experiment with sounds and his own field recordings – his equipment consists of a recording device and a sampler. He sent his first recordings to the UK label Touch, which released his debut album “A Hidden Place” in 2010. In the same year the musician played his first gig at the Berlin club Berghain, applied for asylum in Germany and has lived in a variety of recording facilities. In Eisenhüttenstadt he and another refugee recorded the album “Between Strangers”, which appeared in 2013. His asylum application was approved after two years. Today he lives and works in Berlin. Sohrab is the founder of the label “Sharh Farang”.
