Normal Love

In the beginning of 2010, Pauline P and Inka Kamp started tomeet every night in a basement in Kreuzberg. As rumor has it Nina Hagenrehearsed in the very same basement when she moved to West Berlin at the end ofthe 70s. Inspired by post-punk bands, Pauline P and Inka Kamp started to workon beats and basslines, developing a style inspired by electronic music butplayed by analogue instruments. After weeks of experimenting, they met BenKaan: He listened to the first songs, liked them and they started to playtogether: Normal Love was born. A minimalistic approach to music contrastingdanceable disco beats, catchy guitars and poetic lyrics have become thesignature of the band, as well as the very unique interaction of Pauline's andBen's vocals. Soon thereafter they had their first show at the Mother Festivalin London. A London and Berlin based producer, Brio Taliaferro fell in lovewith the band after listening to their first demo of "Chain thatDoor", a song about the Stonewall Riots in 1969. He invited them to hisstudio and recorded their first songs. Meanwhile they played shows in Germany,Switzerland and France. Taking the next step, the band started to collaboratewith the Berlin based electronic musician Rashad Becker in 2011.Together they recently completed eight songs, described by amusic blogger as "The XX + Berlin". Normal Love's first LP will come out infall 2013.
