musiktheater bruit!

musiktheater bruit! was founded in Hildesheim in 2010 by Karoline Kähler, Julia Kerk, Marcus Thomas and Matthias Meyer as an artistic music theatre collective using interdisciplinary methods to examine cultural, social and philosophical phenomena in their sensuality and relevance. Sound artist Sebastian Schlemminger is also became a member of the group. With compositions in sound, language and space, bruit! engages the senses to examine their themes, which do not necessarily need to have anything to do with music and theatre, but that nonetheless are always aimed at developing new forms of music theatre between concert, theatre, object theatre, installation and performance. The intention of bruit! is to create challenging perceptual situations for the audience in order to facilitate intense aesthetic experiences – with a special focus on the world of sound.
