Maroan el Sani

Maroan el Sani was born in Duisburg in 1966 and studied film at the Free University in Berlin. From 2007 to 2010 he taught at the School of Design at Sapporo City University, since 2010 as guest professor.
 

Since 1993 Nina Fischer and Maroan el Sani have been developing projects together in the area of photography and video installation. In their artistic works they track down the traces of urban landmarks, monuments and transitional events, in order to ask new questions about both history and the present.
