Lenio Kaklea is a dancer, choreographer, and artist born in Athens and based in Paris. She trained in classical ballet and modern techniques at the National Conservatory of Contemporary Dance in Athens before continuing her studies at the CNDC in Angers and later completing the SPEAP program at Sciences Po in Paris.
Since 2009, her multidisciplinary practice has been informed by feminism and postcolonial critique and her work has been presented at major institutions and festivals across Europe and the United States and is included in prominent public and private collections.
Kaklea has received significant commissions and awards, including the Hermès Italia Dance Prize (2019) and the Pernod Ricard Prize (2024). Recent works include “The Birds”, “Age of Crime”, “Chemical Joy”, and the 2025 Bottega Veneta campaign marking the 50th anniversary of Intrecciato.
