Jens R. Giersdorf

Jens Richard Giersdorf is Professor of Dance Studies at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. His publications include “The Body of the People: East German Dance since 1945”, translated into German as “Volkseigene Körper, Choreographies of 21st Century Wars” in co-authorship with Gay Morris, and the special issue of “Dance Research Journal” on Randy Martin’s impact on dance studies, co-edited with Mark Franko. His work has been anthologized internationally and his articles have appeared in number of scholarly journals across disciplines.
