Born in Detroit and based in Berlin, Alan Oldham a.k.a. DJ T-1000 is an international techno DJ, producer and label owner of Generator and Pure Sonik. Oldham is also a lifelong cartoonist and accomplished graphic designer, globally known for his iconic artwork on a variety of records for electronic music labels such +8 Records, Transmat and Astralwerks. For the Netherlandish label Djax-Up-Beats his art took center stage for many years. His drawings and paintings have been on display in art galleries, pop-ups and record shops worldwide. As a college-student Oldham was hosting "Fast Forward" at local radio station WDET-FM, introducing artists like Underground Resistance (UR), Richie Hawtin, Kenny Larkin, and Carl Craig to local airwaves. In the early '90s, Oldham found himself under the tutelage of UR's Mad Mike Banks. Initially hired as UR's "Minister of Information," helping to craft UR's image and media message, Oldham eventually got the call of duty to replace his departing friend Jeff Mills as the DJ on UR's "Revolution for Change" tour, and DJ T-1000 was born. For the next year, Oldham toured with UR and launched his first label, Generator. In 2013, Oldham quit the US and established his permanent European home in Berlin. As a solo DJ Oldham continues touring worldwide. In the studio he is producing for labels like Tresor Berlin, BPitch Control, Third Ear, Finale Sessions or his own labels. His latest project under the minimal/sci-fi persona of Detroitrocketscience is the "Acidspace" EP on Elypsia Records.
