Adam Linder

Adam Linder, originally from Sydney, Australia, is a choreographer and dancer based in Berlin and Los Angeles. After training as a ballet dancer at the Royal Ballet School in London, Linder performed with among others Michael Clark Dance Company and Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods. Since 2015 Linder has shown his work across both theatre and gallery settings, for which he tends to take a Gesamtkunstwerk approach: text, costume, sound production and film are all considered part of his role as choreographer. His works have been commissioned, presented or ‘rented’ by theatres and museums worldwide such as the Museum of Modern Art New York, the Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Serralves Porto, CCA Wattis Institute San Francisco, Kunsthalle Basel, Sadler’s Wells London, HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Kampnagel Hamburg and de Singel Antwerpen. In 2023 he will choreograph a new stage work for Ballet de Lorraine in Nancy, France. Twice a guest at the festival, Tanz im August welcomes him back with “Loyalty” (2021).
