Elle Sofe Sara, hailing from Guovdageaidnu, Norway, is a choreographer and director working at the interfaces of filmmaking, dance and theatre. Her works shed light on the social, political and cultural identities and challenges of the Sámi People. Sara holds an MA in choreography from the Oslo Academy of Arts (2010) and studied dance at Trinity Laban, London. She was the featured artist of the Arctic Arts Festival in Harstad (2020, 2021), winner of the Moon Jury Award for her short film “Ribadit” at imagineNATIVE Film Festival (2019) and a selected artist for Talent Norway’s emerging filmmaker’s programme (2020–2023). She is also the co-founder of DÁIDDADÁLLU, a Sámi indigenous contemporary art collective.
