Philippe Quesne

La mélancolie des dragons

Duration 80min

Language English

What happens when four long-haired rockers get stranded with their compact car in a snowed-out no-man’s-land, where they unexpectedly meet a spectator who is as astonished as she is willing? With lots of artificial snow, soap bubbles and huge plastic sacks, a haven emerges right before the audience’s eyes to counter the ordinary, everyday madness. First performed in 2009, the cult production by the internationally celebrated director Philippe Quesne is now returning to the stage of HAU.

Production: Vivarium Studio. Production of the tour: Nanterre-Amandiers – centre dramatique national. Coproduction: Wiener Festwochen, HAU Hebbel am Ufer, La rose des vents – Scène nationale de Lille Métropole at Villeneuve d’Ascq, Nouveau théâtre – Centre dramatique national de Besançon, Ménagerie de Verre (Paris),  Le Forum – Scène conventionnée de Blanc-Mesnil, Le Carré des Jalles, Festival Perspectives (Saarbrücken). Supported by: Région Île-de-France, Parc de la Villette, Centre National du Théâtre. With support by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
