The idea that visibility creates the possibility for control is an essential component of the democratic idea. Publicness is meant to force those in power to produce a narrative that can then be disputed. But in a time of systemic constraints with “no alternatives,” this narrative has started to sputter. Adam Curtis speaks about the effects that the age of logarithms has had on how stories are told.
