Canadian artist Jacob Wren wrote a book in 2018 entitled “Authenticity is a Feeling”, which tells the story of the eclectic, interdisciplinary group PME-ART. Following their twenty-year track of radical experimentation, it focuses on the vulnerability and paradox of “being yourself in a performance situation,”and celebrates a certain difficulty that it claims only live performance can produce. Now, at a time when performance is mostly not allowed, Jacob Wren comes together with writer and performer Claudia La Rocco to discuss and re-contextualise questions of live art.
