Voetvolk

Voetvolk (“Rank and File”) is a contemporary dance and performance group. It was founded in 2007 in Belgium by the dancer and choreographer Lisbeth Gruwez and the musician and composer Maarten Van Cauwenberghe, who met in Jan Fabre’s artistic laboratory. Their work is a continuing dialogue between physical and auditory movement, which guide one another so as to achieve an acoustic and visible symbiosis. Nine artistic works have been created to date, and have been shown at the Festival d’Avignon, the Guggenheim in Bilbao and the Venice Biennale. In 2016 Voetvolk presented “AH | HA” at Tanz im August.
