Michiel Vandevelde studied dance and choreography at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. He works as a choreographer, curator, author and editor, and his activities include membership of the artistic team of the performing-arts magazine Etcetera. In 2017 he began a four-year term as artist in residence at the Kaaitheater in Brussels. His work investigates the elements that constitute or subvert the public sphere, and imagines social, economic and cultural alternatives that question, challenge and transform dominant logics. He has developed numerous projects in both public space and art institutions. “Paradise Now (1968–2018)” is his second cooperation with the company fABULEUS.
