Maguy Marin

Maguy Marin studied classical ballet in Toulouse and Paris. In 1981 she founded her own company in Paris, and the choreography “May B” in the same year represented her artistic breakthrough. Today she is seen as one of the most influential choreographers of contemporary dance theatre. She has created around 50 pieces, of which many now belong to the classical dance repertoire, and in 2016 was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Dance Biennial. Maguy Marin has already shown work three times at Tanz im August, most recently in 2015 with “Singspiele”.
