In the work of choreographer Björn Säfsten body, mind and their associated activities are examined, dissected and exhibited. His choreographic practice draws out a mix of acute details and grand gestures in his individual performers, humorously attracting the viewer to mirror themselves in the movements in front of them. Säfsten has created a series of self-produced pieces since 2006 and has also been commissioned for collaborations with Skånes Dansteater, Malmö and the Cullberg Ballet, Stockholm, to name a few. He was awarded the Cullberg Prize in 2009.
