Aydin Teker occupies an exceptional position on the contemporary Turkish dance scene. She has worked for over 25 years in Istanbul, and is still one of Turkey’s most radical artists. She graduated from Ankara State Conservatory in 1973, and was an ensemble member of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet. Thanks to a scholarship in 1976 she went first to London then to the US, where she studied at New Yorkt University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her work has been shown in numerous countries, for example at the Zürcher Theater Spektakel, Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels and the Festival TransAmériques in Montreal.
