Eszter Salamon

Eszter Salamon is an artist and performer. After a classical dance training at the Budapest National Dance Academy, she created her own solos and ensemble pieces. They were shown internationally, for example at the Tanzpattform Deutschland, the Kunstenfestivaldesarts and the festival steirischer herbst in Graz. Salamon uses choreography as a possibility to navigate between various media, such as video, sound, text, voice or movement. As a dancer she collaborates with Sidonie Rochon, Mathilde Monnier and François Verret. In 2014 she created “MONUMENT 0: Haunted by wars (1913–2013)”, the first in a series of pieces that combine the idea of the monument and the practice of “rewriting” history and dance history. Today this series encompasses six performances. Eszter Salamon was awarded the Evens Arts Prize in 2019.
