Benoît Lachambre

Benoît Lachambre has been a choreographer, dancer and dance teacher for over 30 years. In 1996 he founded his company Par B.L.eux as a platform for the realisation of research projects and the development of new creative processes. He regularly collaborates with artists from various disciplines and backgrounds, for example Lynda Gaudreau, Felix Ruckert, Boris Charmatz, Sasha Waltz, Isabelle Schad and Laurent Goldring. With Meg Stuart and the composer Hahn Rowe he created “Forgeries, Love and Other Matters” (2006), for which he won the prestigious Bessie Award. With his solo “Lifeguard” (2016) he aimed to deconstruct the idea of the choreographic impulse and continually redefine the roles of performer and viewer. “Fluid Grounds” also arose from this idea in 2018. Lachambre showed his first premiere at Tanz im August in 1996  with “The Water Fait Mal”, and has been a regular guest since then.
