Festival opening on Friday, 6 August 2021, at HAU1 and Freilichtbühne Weißensee

From 6–22 August 2021 we will once again present live performances all over Berlin – at HAU Hebbel am Ufer and 10 other venues in the city we will show 70 performances, including 6 world premieres and 7 German premieres with more than 100 artists from 20 countries. Highlights also include our new venues: Freilichtbühne Weißensee, MaHalla, the arena at Gärten der Welt and Haus der Statistik. Tickets for all performances are available here on our website. Festival opening 2021

On 6. August Tanz im August opens its 33rd edition with two German premieres. At HAU1, choreographer Ayelen Parolin / RUDA creates a kaleidoscopic landscape of shape­shifting identities. Later in the evening, pioneer of urban dance Anne Nguyen premieres “Underdogs” at Freilichtbühne Weißensee, which evokes the political climate in 1970s America against a backdrop of soul music.

All Our Eyes Believe

Berlin choreographer Lea Moro returns to Tanz im August with her new performance “All Our Eyes Believe”. From 19–21 August, she builds a magical landscape that dissolves the boundaries between nature and culture, inviting us to see the world with different eyes.

The performance is recommended for children from 6 years on, children and teenagers up to the age of 14 who are accompanied by an adult ticketholder receive a reduced ticket for 5€.
